Still relevant. Interesting.
Felt more like an essay of Sam's opinions than a book.
"4 legs good 2 legs better" - George Orwell is brilliant
Felt more like a criticism of academia. Radical, had some compelling arguments, but I felt like he contradicted himself sometimes.
For example he seemed to be proud of Steve Jobs because he built a business like an artisan - even focusing on making the inside of the iPhone beautiful - granted. Then he goes on to talk about how great products do not need advertising .
Well, the disconnect here is that, Apple has a big budget for advertising.
There is a lot that goes into why we do what we do
Not one of his best works, but a good read.
... Election night. 2016
Not sure what the author was trying to get at.
Practical use of maths
Amazing. Interesting how we take things for granted, then again do we need the things we want?
Hilarious!! Can get sad in certain chapters.
An academic work that tries to appeal to the average person at the same time.
Repeats concepts in other books. Not a bad read though
Great read, good to think differently and not just follow the crowd
Fiction, but I had higher expectations based on reviews.
Another good book on evolutionary psychology
Good follow up to "You are not so smart"
This book is great in general, but some chapters can get a bit arid.
A must read, especially for managers.
How much control do you think you have.
A must read. Most of us live in an unrealistic world, unfortunately. Even though this book makes sense, society is far from achieving anything like this.
The brain is very interesting
Mutual understanding is complicated
Show is great but books are better
Interesting questions
Read before you start a business
Good follow up to freakeconomics
Real life economics, no BS, no complicated models.
A great place to start learning about the Middle East
Another interesting take on why society is structured the way it is
Maths for the non math buff
Set in pre-colonial Nigeria, this fiction sheds light on a culture that was disrupted by a foreign culture. A friendly "innocent" culture that will never be the same again.
What shapes society. Helps make sense on why we do what we do. Strong on evolutionary psychology. A must read.
Throws more light on how fear is necessary for belief
