I didn‘t like this and I‘m a bit sad about it.

My prior knowledge comes from Barbie in the Nutcracker movie and playing parts of the beautiful Nutcracker suite in my high school orchestra and neither prepared me for this completely different story about a story that‘s told to a young girl child who gets married awful fast at the end (my main problem is that the only way we know that any amount of time has changed is the phrase ‘one day‘ 🙈)

Other than reading Hiddensee by Gregory Maguire & admiring the cute figurines found in stores this time of year, I am completely unfamiliar with the The Nutcracker. I really loved Alexandre Dumases take on the story & overall found it charming, however I did find the ending to be somewhat creepy due to the young age of the heroine.
