Been a while since I read at a cafe ☕️
Reading with my girlfriend‘s cat. ❤️
Unabridged Book Store in Chicago, IL.
By far the earliest in the year I‘ve ever completed my reading challenge! To be fair, my job forces me to read way more than I would usually. It‘s time to up that goal!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️| an illuminating collection of pictures by two photographers about the events leading up to and from the Stonewall Riots—it‘s nice to see pictures of people smiling and fighting, and it makes the past feel more real and close.
Awesome display at the main branch of the NYPL at 42nd & 5th. If you‘re in the area it‘s definitely worth going, plus there‘s a book that goes with the exhibit that‘s also really cool. Happy pride month! 🌈
Nice to read next to my kitty before bed. ✨
I don‘t know if I‘ll still like this series after how many similar books I‘ve read since, but giving it a shot. My friend bought me “novel teas” with quotes for each bag - this one is “The worst thing about new books is that they keep us from reading the old ones.”
What is it about “Cat Person” that‘s so uncomfortable and subtly terrifying? It‘s so well done. Technically having consensual sex but being pressured by social norms rather than the person to continue when you don‘t want to? The super typical response of Robert to turn from a normal loser into a creepy guy that goes to places the narrator frequents and accuses her of being a whore? Making excuses to keep pursuing men who put no effort into you?
I read “Cat Person” back when everyone was circling that around the Internet, so I‘m excited to see what other stories Roupenian can think up!
