If I had a real job (sarcasm) I would have been fired by now. My son had special needs and one of them is making me late for work every morning. But when it's a book that holds us up I have to celebrate. This is him on his EzyRoller at the point when he needed to park it before he got marked tardy. If you have a kid with special needs, know that you have my heart. Parenting is hard.

TEArificbooks I hear you. My special needs son has one speed- crock pot. He will not hustle. And the more you tell him to hurry up the slower he goes. 2y
mandarchy @mdm139 One speed crock pot is a good description. I call it broken motivator syndrome. I think I fall asleep every night muttering, "just brush your teeth". Because he out lasts me now. 2y
ncsufoxes Yes, I give plenty of warnings about how long before we need to leave & my son still takes forever. But if it‘s something he wants to do he‘s ready & then complains if I take too long to get out the door 2y

mandarchy @ncsufoxes this is why I call it broken motivator syndrome. Once in a blue moon he'll be ready before me, but even if he's looked forward to something for days he'll still struggle to get out the door. But the complaining is there. You can't take him grocery shopping, he'll drive you up the wall with his whining 🙄 I mean who isn't bored at the grocery store? 2y
luvlee68 @mandarchy loving this picture he looks so adorably cute engaging in a book 📕 what a beautiful thing 😍thanks for sharing 2y
mandarchy @luvlee68 any time he looks at a book is precious to me. I'm glad people appreciate it too. It was a hard week but I love my little guy (no little for long). 2y

My son was one happy little dude for Christmas 😊. Mommy might just have to read them too 💁

CarlyQuinn My students are obsessed with these! Tell me, are they safe for grade 3s? 6y
Books88 @CarlyQuinn yes! They are recommended for 8 and up so 3rd grade is the perfect age. My son is in 4th and all the kids love them. 6y
CarlyQuinn @AJBowers awesome! I figured, as I read the first 10 pages of the first one to make sure. Sometimes, I worry that I‘m too easygoing about book choices, and then I remember that I refused to let grade 5-6 students read The Hunger Games. 😬 I still stand by my decision though. 6y

MeganAnn My son loves these as well! He is getting #6 for his birthday tomorrow 😉 I may be reading them all too... @CarlyQuinn my son is a 3rd grader and I think these fit that age very well. I have to agree with you - grade 5-6 students are not ready for the subject matter in The Hunger Games! 6y
ericarobynreads Awesome!! I love this series! 6y
BethFishReads Love this series. I think I‘m 1 behind 6y
Books88 @CarlyQuinn I completely agree about Hunger Games! As much as I personally liked it, I wouldn't let my kids read that till they are older. 6y
Books88 @MeganAnn I will if you will 😄 and happy birthday to your little guy! I 6y
Books88 @ericarobynreads @BethFishReads I've caught bits and pieces of it while my son was reading, he can't put them down! From what I've seen they look good! 6y
MeganAnn @AJBowers I've already read the first two and they were awesome! And thank you! 6y
