Mehso-so

Interesting account of bicycle road racing in Europe which involves strategy, suffering, etc. Sometimes the stream of thought goes into fantasy and into childhood memories. Not bad but I should have read it quicker. Probably better that way.

Krabbe describes the inner thoughts and psychology of a cycling road race from his point of view during a 150 km race. This is a book for a specific reader I think - I loved it as someone who is interested in the mindset it takes to accomplish any kind of distance feat. I found it fascinating and was in agony and along with him. #booked2018 #olympicsport (pictured with a curling trophy for a little winter Olympic spirit).

BarbaraTheBibliophage Great pick. I might add this to my list. I have several ultra distance runners and cyclists as clients, and find it fascinating. Not that I‘d sign up myself for the grueling nature of the competition! 6y

Blaire @BarbaraTheBibliophage yes - gets into why he does it and his mindset through racing. Before cycling the author was a serious chess player and it seems a strong psyche is important for both pursuits. 6y
