Two rival football players begin a game with higher stakes than the Super Bowl in this steamy romance from the author of Illegal Contact. Simeon Boudreaux, the New York Barons golden-armed quarterback, is blessed with irresistible New Orleans charm and a face to melt your mamas heart. Hes universally adored by fans and the media. Coming out as gay in solidarity with his teammate hasnt harmed his reputation in the leastexcept for some social media taunting from rival linebacker Adrin Bravo. Though they were once teammates, Adrin views Simeon as a traitor and the number-one name on the New Jersey Predators shit list. When animosity between the two NFL players reaches a boiling point on the field, culminating in a dirty fist fight, theyre both benched for six games and sentenced to joint community service teaching sullen, Brooklyn teens how to play ball. At first, they can barely stand to be in the same room, but running the camp forces them to shape up. With no choice but to work together, Simeon realizes Adrin is more than his alpha-jerk persona, and Adrin begins to question why hes always had such strong feelings for the gorgeous QB

Enemies to lovers with a gay for you trope. I liked the first book in this series better. Adrian was like an overgrown child with poor impulse control & I didn‘t feel like he really developed beyond that. 🏈🏈🏈 #romantsy

CarolynM Not a favourite of mine, either. 7y
EloisaJames I liked it—but there‘s this thing about how Santino wasn‘t really a man—did you read that? I googled and was very startled. I guess no more books from “him” (edited) 7y
Christy2318 @EloisaJames Yeah there was bunch of crazy stuff about who was really the author & allegations of cat fishing people & using their experiences for books. All his publishers dropped him. It was hard to follow because while there were a lot of people accusing him of things, there wasn‘t a lot of proof or details. Whatever happened, it‘s too bad. I really liked most of his books. 7y

Another enemies-to-lovers story done really well by Santino Hassell. This is my first time reading a book with the gay for you trope, and I liked what I saw. I wish Adrián had a little more time to develop and I thought the end of the book was a bit hasty, but overall I really enjoyed it.

My eyes hurt so I'm switching back to audio. This seemed like the most obvious choice. #24in48

Was waiting for this book since a long time. Definitely worth the wait though Book 1 of the series still remains my favourite! Loved the banters between the two protagonists.
Highly recommended!

Another wonderful addition to the Barons series! Worth the read. (But I think that about all of Santino‘s books.)
