The Oxford History of Medieval Europe | 
Ok no drama , no daring escapes or heads being chopped off; but so far it seems to be a very quick run through of European history; I long for more details but it is covering a lot of years in one book so I understand; it‘s a bit interesting but I crave more- I‘m just barely getting into this so we will see; I do believe it has various authors covering different ages in time
