'A gripping debut from a serious new talent . . .' Erin Kelly on Jenny Quintanas The Missing Girl When Anna Flores' adored older sister goes missing as a teenager, Anna copes by disappearing too, just as soon as she can: running as far away from her family as possible, and eventually building a life for herself abroad. Thirty years later, the death of her mother finally forces Anna to return home. Tasked with sorting through her mother's possessions, she begins to confront not just her mother's death, but also the huge hole Gabriella's disappearance left in her life and finds herself asking a question she's not allowed herself to ask for years: what really happened to her sister? With that question comes the revelation that her biggest fear isn't discovering the worst; it's never knowing the answer. But is it too late for Anna to uncover the truth about Gabriella's disappearance?

Just when I thought this was dragging a bit, it REALLY CAME back and won me over. A really good mystery, with little clues

I enjoyed the writing style of this book and found the story gripping but the main plot details seem to be skirted over very quickly and without much depth or proper explanation. It reminded me of The Trouble with Goats and Sheep with its village full of secrets

Book 1/50: The whole novel was a slow build up of emotion and tension until the very end, when all the pieces slowly come together. I really liked the whole vibe of the book, and the switching back and forth between Anna as an adult and Anna as a child. I was left almost satisfied with this book…I personally would‘ve liked a bigger “punch” at the end, but that‘s just me.

Our Thriller of the Month for July is this superbly haunting mystery that demands to be devoured in a single sitting. A clever, beautifully written exploration of grief and family, this is a far cry from your usual psychological thriller. #bookofthemonth #psychologicalthriller

I returned this latest in my #LitsyAtoZ challenge for Q. An enjoyable thriller that had me curious to the end to find out about the narrators missing sister. Set today and in 1982 it was a page turner although still not sure if i was completely satisfied with the end.
