January 31, 2023 So many twists and turns! WOW This author is a really good one to add to your TBR. I would give this book 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ No regrets.
This was a solidly good story (not sure what category I‘d put it in….it‘s not really a thriller, mystery or horror 🤔) that was soooo sad. It was pretty easy to figure out the central “mystery” of why the main character had been checked into a mental hospital after her sister‘s death but that final twist was a doozy! If you‘re into reading about the myriad ways early and severe childhood trauma can destroy people you‘ll like this! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
This one just scrapes a Pick. Yes, it is entertaining & intriguing & I was compelled to keep turning the pages. But it did annoy me a little as it all seemed so familiar, so generic, so thriller-by-numbers. There is nothing NEW. And as for the twist at the end, I suspect everyone who has ever read a thriller before would fully expect it, let alone have guessed it! So only a Pick because I'm feeling magnanimous!
Reading another Freida McFadden book and my sweet baby girl is right beside my side. She loves to cuddle while I‘m reading ♥️
Honesty, always. It didn‘t make me that mad. 😭

Wow..not your typical ending to a murder/mystery. Will read more of this Author as well
January 23, 2023 New TBR!!! I ordered two new fiction books (psychological thrillers) to my list of 2023 books: Never Lie by Frieda McFadden and A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham. These two are staring at me like, "READ ME OR ELSE...." I will read them after I read Beautiful Country by Qian Julie Wang (nonfiction) for the month of February.
