I ended the year on a bit of a dud, which was a shame. I really liked the premise of this book as a mash-up of urban fantasy and country house murder mystery, but the execution didn‘t work for me. Some bits jarred and secrets were revealed far too easily. On the other hand, the contrast between the wintery setting and the tropical heat of Thailand amused me!
RamsFan1963 Green is my favorite author, but this is one series of books I haven't read yet. I've loved all his other series, but for some reason, this one doesn't interest me. It's set on my TBR for awhile now, maybe 2021 I'll take the plunge 3y
Lucy_Anywhere @RamsFan1963 I‘ve read some of his other books (Nightside and Edwin Drood) and remember enjoying them. I suppose he‘s allowed to have a dud every now and then! 3y
