Hocus Pocus & The All New Sequel | A.W. Jantha

I have not read many novelizations, yet this is the best written one that I have come across.

Novelizations can seem impersonal. Events of the story more reported...told instead of shown. Even my Batman Begins book felt this way in some parts.

A.W. Jantha did an exquisite job taking Hocus Pocus from movie to book. Beautifully written and given respect on the page. There is true feeling weaved into the storyline all the way through.

1- Some omissions (When Thachery was pushed away by his father and called a beast after he was first transformed into a cat. And the cop who wasn't a cop).

AnnCrystal 3- And a few additions to the storyline (the most interesting was when Winifred recalled a cemetery wedding from over 300 years ago just before the bus driver scene. And the name Elizabeth Sanderson as being logged as the last mistress of the Sanderson's Book of shadows which is added to the scene when Allison opens the book in Max's room to try and find a way to help Binx).

The movie and the novelization are equally excellent...now both are favorites amongst my movie-AND-book favorites.

This book gave me two search words, Pumpkin and Cider equalling 30 points.

I managed to read another four hours between the 23rd - 26th, equalling 40 points.

Plus 20 extra points for being a, Spooky or Autumn themed read.

These 90 points together with my previous 210 points all totals to 300 pts.

Been meaning to read this for every Halloween since I purchased this book!

It has been a few years since adding this book to my library 😂.

I always run across it in November and say, “Oops, I guess next year.“

One of my favorite movies 🎬📚💝...this is the year I discover if the novelization and sequel are just as good 🤞😉💝.
