This book would be a great book to start the school year with. It discusses summer adventures along with friendship. It could be a good way to begin class discussions on summer and new friendships.

A Couple of Boys Have the Best Week Ever by Marla Frazee. This book is a book about friendship with the adventure of nature camp. It has colorful illustrations along with a fun way of reading the page due to its word bubbles and fun text.

Eamon goes to his grandparents house for the summer with his friend James. During the summer the boys go to go hiking, to the beach and just simply enjoy nature with one another. This is such a great book to read to students to get them to be creative and use their imagination.

My favorite part of this book was when James shows up to Pam and Bill‘s house with “just a few of his belongings (which included box after box of stuff for the week).

I love how the author wrote the words in this book; the font and the “talk bubbles”. The two children, James and Eamon, are very ornery which sort of reminds me of myself when I was younger.

#lae3414sp19 The hilarious book “A Couple of Boys Have The Best Week Ever” (RF) is a Caldecott Award Winner by Marla Frazee. The short story is about James and Eamon, Jamon for short, and their adventure to Eamon‘s grandparents house. This story would be best read as an IR, because there are many word bubbles from the characters and lots of imagery in the illustrations.

sydneydaniels For UDL, I believe 3.2 and 7.2 would be best fitting. For ESOL, I think 8, 22, and 25 would be useful for and ELL with this book. I could not find a viewable lesson plan for this book, but I believe having the students write a paper on their best trip/week ever to incorporate writing skills and vocabulary. 5y

3⭐️ I‘m glad the kids had the best week ever, but I didn‘t have the best five minutes ever. They story was nice. A boy and his friend spend a week with the grandparents and go to nature camp. The story is a bit long. I know it was awarded a Caldecott Honor, but I don‘t understand why.
