8 posts | 6 read | 10 to read
What is a bullet journal? A creative method of journaling and note-taking that uses bullet points as its core structure. The idea behind it is that you jot down quick notes instead of long sentences in a creative and attractive way.Using symbols, charts and illustrations, and a variety of pen colours on a dotted grid background - you can log anything you want, such as:- chronicle daily activities- track habits- log appointments- keep calendars- plan trips- record random thoughts- keep track of a diet.In less than a year, the phenomenon that is bullet journaling has taken off with thousands of journalers sharing their work on Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook. In How To Bullet Plan, Buzzfeed editor Rachel Wilkerson Miller tells you everything you need to know to start your own, with beautiful colour illustrations to spark your ideas.

The sales pitch that sold me on book darts. While waiting for the book darts to come, I started using paper clips because I had a box sitting around and they actually worked quite well. (Save for bending the pages a little.)

Applies to habits in general, I think.

This is a really easy to follow guide on how to bullet journal. Theres tips on page layouts and the sort of things to include. It's a nice simple guide perfect for anyone starting out. I liked that the pages weren't too elaborate so could be copied if wanted. This has given me lots of ideas for my own journal. Lots of sticky notes tucked in ready to refer back to later on.

SmartSassery Thanks for the share. I'm very curious now. 5y
kezzlou85 @SmartSassery I found it really good. 5y

A bit of light relief for my last evening living in the library. Got to head home tomorrow 😩. I‘ve read this book twice now - it‘s great - clear, stylist and looks manageable. But I‘ve still not started my own #bujo! I think I‘ve got that ‘first page‘ fear. Any advice to get me started! #page1nerves

knittedgnome I started with a cheapo notebook until I found my groove. I bujo mostly for function with some decorating. I say just jump in! 7y
CoffeeK8 @knittedgnome I did the same thing. And then I made my next journal really cute and then only used have of the cute pages and mostly made lists. Just go for it, and figure out what works for you 7y
minkyb Good luck! 7y
Mitch Thanks guys - I‘ve done it! I skipped the first 2 pages of my journal and kept them empty- starting on page 4 didn‘t seem so scary and once I‘d made my first mistake ( damn you February for only have 28 days!) the pressure was off! I‘m now fully functioning with dots, arrows, lists and grids - the planner in me, is in love! 7y

Postman‘s just been! Always wanted to do this- but I‘m not the neatest person in print! Hints and tips to stay on top of books and reading in fun ways that aren‘t too frilly or hard to do ?? #bujo #bookhaul

CherryPie Cute cover. Neatness is not required. ☺📘 7y
Mitch That‘s great @CherryPie I kinda have a very free flowing random brain that works super fast and that usually results in unintelligible scrawls! I have room for improvement! 7y
Aliciaftw Maybe I should pick this up as well. 🤔 Book and/or habit. 7y

Ligaya I‘ve seen this recommended in a few places, all with positive comments. Let me know how it goes for you! 7y
Mitch Will do @Ligaya it looks clean and crisp with lots of examples. Going to dive in properly this week. I‘ll let you know! 7y
UrsulaMonarch @Mitch my personal recommendation is "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good." My bujo does not look like all the gorgeous ones but it's useful for me! I use the parts of the system I like & leave the rest ?keep us posted on how it goes! 7y
Mitch Good advice @UrsulaMonarch 7y
