published 2005. I love how this book can relate to little kids in real life. They all have their own problems and they find a way to work it out. It also talked about bullying and standing up for your friend

“I know if we too the time to get to know each other, we would get alone just fine.”
“Went to the park with my sister today. We tried the seesaw. It didn‘t work. We tried the tire swing. It didn‘t work. We spun a huge sticky web on the water fountain. That worked.”
This book would be great to talk about the differences between insects and spiders.
Also, the book gives a fun and exciting point of view of spiders and their adventures. I also love the illustrations.
I loved the character development in this book. By the end, you can really understand the animal hierarchy of power - (who eats who). The spider also just wants to be understood and doesn‘t want to scare people all the time.
I love how this picture book is read diary entry to diary entry. A fun read!
I really did enjoy this book. I loved the new perspective that the book gave on spiders. A lot of people are afraid of them but this book allows others to get a new perspective. It is a fun book that I would love to read to my future classroom. I loved how the theme was projected through the images of Spider's Diary. It was an extremely enjoyable book.
Rating 4/5.
PICTURE BOOK
Diary of a Spider by Doreen Cronin a F Book. The book is a diary written by a spider. The diary starts with a day at school. His diary seems similar to a person life . He has sleeps over with worms (Very funny). He also mentions his grandpa several time in the story . Very creative book. I would read as S, then the class will collaborate groups and do a “fact- fiction “recording sheet.
