Although the information about the diamond industry was very interesting, Deaver threw entirely too many balls into the air in this story, and introducing his arch enemy at the end was a tired trope intended to sell the next book. Vimal Lahore, a young apprentice who yearns for another life was an interesting character. Generally, unlike many of Deaver‘s others, this one was too long, and disappointing.

I finished, although the last 50% was a bit of a chore. Deserves a solid so-so as I could not guess what the twist would be, as there‘s always a twist in Deaver‘s books. The picture is of the Hope Diamond. The cutting edge title refers to diamonds.

By far one of my best reads. It was confusing, suspenseful, down right fantastic. I read this treasure during basic training and wow was it great. The book is broken up into three stages. 541 pages of pure magic. Might want to reconsider the ring on your finger🤫

Very well written and suspenseful plot. Will be sad to finish it but look forward to another Jeffrey Deaver title.

I just love Jeffery Deaver. He grabs me at the first and doesn't let go. Now, I need him to hurry up and write the next Lincoln Rhyme book. Deaver kinda left me hanging, there at the end. If you read his books, you know about the Watchmaker. That's all I am saying, except for: Hurry up, Jeffery Deaver with the next Lincoln Rhyme book, please!!

I hate giving this a mediocre rating. I love Lincoln and Amelia it it was soooooooo long long and drawn out. There was nothing that compelled me to keep reading for extended periods of time. The ending was good and teases at a future book, which I will read with high hopes. 😬
