I‘ve been thinking about Florence, which brought to mind this amazing novel about another storm.

Wow, just wow. A gorgeous first novel set in India, Pakistan Burma (Myanmar) and the United States. The author deftly juggles the interconnected lives of six character as we travel backward and forward in time (1942-2004) and so many storms, literal and figurative. Highly recommended.

OMG!!! I cannot believe this fabulous book is a debut. The prose is cinematic and the author weaves a multiple timeline plot seamlessly. Over the course of the novel, you learn the modern history of Bangedesh. But this book is driven by the characters and the family stories. Even the minor characters and tales are just lovely (wait until you read the story of the man with the strange pendant). Soooooo good. #netgalley
