These are some of my favourites, both old and new. If you haven‘t read Astercote, or don‘t know it, it is well worth a read - although 30+ years since I read it!

readinginthedark What is Astercote about? 6y
Centique I just finished reading Percy Jackson to my 7yo last night and need a new book to read him. You‘ve reminded me we haven‘t read any CS Lewis yet! ( I forgot bc I read them to the other child but not the 7yo yet) This will be fun! 6y
Andrew65 @Centique They‘ve got a real treat ahead. 😊 6y
Andrew65 @readinginthedark Apologies, missed this somehow! It is set in modern days but relates back to the Black Death. The village even in modern days feel they are free from the plague because of a chalice present in the village. This then goes missing and the sickness returns. Do bear in mind over 30 years since I read it. This link may help. http://charlotteslibrary.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/astercote-by-penelope-lively-for... It is part timeslip. (edited) 6y
