3 posts | 6 read | 3 to read
Collects America (2017) #7-12. It begins with the story you’ve been waiting for: the origin of America Chavez! But everyone’s favorite no-nonsense powerhouse soon meets her match — in the form of the deadly and exotic Exterminatrix! Can America stand against this vile villainess, backed by the full power of the ominous Midas Corporation? America gains all-new but untested abilities — and she’ll need them against the oncoming horde! But what does Exterminatrix want with Sotomayor University? With America in lockup, it’s up to Prodigy to find out — and that won’t be easy when campus queen X’Andria is working for the enemy! As the Midas Corporation reignites a decades-old danger, America’s newly discovered home comes under threat — but they’re about to learn that you don’t mess with a Fuertona. And you definitely don’t mess with a Chavez!

I can‘t really focus on anything today; it‘s been such a slow one that I‘m practically falling asleep where I sit. (I also had a monster headache last night and am hoping not to repeat it, so I‘m trying to take it easy.) So, some time with America it is! #america #americachavez #fastandfuertona #marvelcomics #youngavengers

Let me count the ways that I love this character! She‘s called miss America and she a queer Latino and unfortunately this series got cancelled by marvel as they don‘t like to change their business model to give characters like this a chance to really grow and reach the audience who will love them. It‘s got a blatant agenda of tolerance but still a good story that stands on its own due to lovable characters. I wish it could have stayed

Weaponxgirl #womenincomics this will also fit you #readharder2019 prompt for a comic by lgbtqi author as the writer is herself a queer Latino 5y

I really like this series and this was no exception! The colors are bright, the story is interesting, plus it features a young strong Latina woman and her diverse group of friends. So good!
