Let me count the ways that I love this character! She‘s called miss America and she a queer Latino and unfortunately this series got cancelled by marvel as they don‘t like to change their business model to give characters like this a chance to really grow and reach the audience who will love them. It‘s got a blatant agenda of tolerance but still a good story that stands on its own due to lovable characters. I wish it could have stayed

Weaponxgirl #womenincomics this will also fit you #readharder2019 prompt for a comic by lgbtqi author as the writer is herself a queer Latino 5y

First three on the bottom are library books, top three are charity shop finds. The tagged book had a relevant #metoo feel to it. Chauvinist professor turns up dead, the campus feminist who's campaigning against sexual harassment comes under scrutiny. From the blurb she sounds like a character we don't often get and I'm excited for this. Some #ownvoices #diversereads and some comics for #womenincomics I'm super chuffed with this haul

Do you like history? Literature? Comics? Random facts? And finally dyo have a odd sense of humour? If yes to all of those then you must read this book! My friend introduced me to her when I was reading about Ida b Welles (not included in this) and I've been a fan ever since. #womenincomics

So Litsy doesn't have this volume in the database but it was great. Spider-Woman tries to stay out of Civil War II, being she's a new mom and that her bestie and ex are the ones at odds. She's not entirely unsuccessful and I enjoyed reading about her checking on the predictions. When the main event of Civil War II happens, her reaction is priceless. This was a great volume and a character I love more all the time. #femalesuperheroes #womenincomics

Just finished volume 2 last night and I'm still in love. It's a silly comic, yet so much fun and I adore moongirl. Also a guest appearance that made me squee with happiness. I find it hard to talk about the comics I loved, so carry on giving her a read if you haven't yet. #weneeddiversecomics #womenincomics

Another for my #womenincomics challenge. I loved this volume so much more than the first one! The flow felt much better to me and the mythology of this series came alive in my head. The artwork is unique and really compliments everything. I found this moving and am so glad I gave the second volume a go after not being blown away by the first one.

Lauredhel Thanks for the review! I wasn't taken with the first one either, but might pick up the second one when it arrives at the library now. 7y
Weaponxgirl @Lauredhel I got motivations a bit more in this one and things from the first volume that seemed a bit odd made more sense to me. I'm a big lover of folklore so glad it's finally getting into a groove I like. Hope you enjoy it too 😀 7y
Foxyfictionista I loved the first one! I need to pick this volume up. ☺️ 7y

Weaponxgirl @Foxyfictionista I didn't not like the first one but this to me had me properly involved:) hope you get to indulge in it soon 7y
ChasingOm Good to know! I wasn't blown away by Vol. 1 either but wanted to give Vol. 2 a chance. 7y
Weaponxgirl @ChasingOm I really liked this one a lot. I was more involved with the outcome here and I'm now looking forward to see where it goes. Bunny and butterfly also make more sense now. It clicked this time 7y

Female artists on this for my #womenincomics challenge. This one is great and well deserves to be as popular as squirrel girl et all! The cover doesn't convey quite how much fun this character is, it looks more serious than some of the lady fronted comics by marvel. Story is solid and I want to know more. In love with this one #weneeddiversecomics

Laura317 Sounds intriguing. Stacked! 7y
literarymermaid I love her! I even saw ine cosplayer as her at Comicon and was so excited! I def recommend checking out this one and the other two lovely ladies in it. 7y
Weaponxgirl @StoredFeminism Jessica spider woman has been on my hit list for ages! Love her whenever she turns up in captain marvel comics. New fan of cindi, gonna devour the next volume as soon as possible 7y

literarymermaid @Weaponxgirl I haven't gotten into Captain Marvel yet. I didn't know they cross over but now I' going to have to add her to my list too. I read volume 1 but it wasn't as fun as some of the others I was reading so I kinda puf it out of my head. Gotta drag it back. 7y
Weaponxgirl @StoredFeminism spider woman and captain marvel are best friends and it's been a huge source of pleasure to me whenever they appear in comics together. Really supportive of each other and just great to see. I remember one volume of captain marvel really making me giggle so she's worth giving a shot imo 7y
literarymermaid She does appear in Spider-Woman's first volume, so I had seen it, but only recently. I'm still wading into comics and don't have a good history on the established characters but I had gotten so excited when all the new women were coming out a few years ago that I grabbed them all. Now I have to gi back and learn the ones that were always there. 7y
Weaponxgirl @StoredFeminism the new women fronted announcement got me excited too and I'm still working through them myself. So far spidergwen has been the only one I've found iffy, the first volume was kinda messy even though I liked her character. 7y
literarymermaid @Weaponxgirl Me too. I couldnt get into hers but after reading Spider-Women, I think it may have been more of her alt-universe that I had an issue with. I like the new women, but I was a little turned off by the plethora of white blondes still, so I didn't latch on to her, Captain Marvel or Thor very well. I will say that Thor's second volume was so good and I am now looking forward to her story. 7y
Weaponxgirl @StoredFeminism I can totally understand that. I only got into captain marvel after bitch planet and realising they were by the same author. As I keep saying in my reviews on her, that character has had the crappiest writing done to her and I was not a fan for a long time. Any character that has a conversation with iron man though that has her going "I do love starwars and I do love punching things" gets a second chance 7y
literarymermaid Absolutely. I was originally reconsidering based on how much fun it was to have her as bestie in Shifting Gears. 7y
Weaponxgirl @StoredFeminism you've made me push spider woman up my tbr list. Next payday if not in the library it's a done deal 7y
