Michael Rosen's Sad Book | Michael Rosen

We all have 'sad stuff' to deal with in life. What makes Michael Rosen most sad is thinking about his son, Eddie, who died. In this book he writes about his sadness, how it affects him, and some of the things he does to try to cope with it.

This is such a beautiful, heart wrenching book that explains sadness in such a visual and visceral way 💔

I heard that Michael Rosen was sick with virus so decided to reread this book. Do hope he gets better soon.

This devastating picture book addresses grief and deep depression. It is evocative and emotional and hard to read. It is absolutely stunningly truthful and painful and beautiful. It is definitely not for every child, but I think for a child who has experienced a horrible loss, it will make them feel less alone. I know it did me.

#DecDays Day 14: Saddest #Candles in the world can be found in Michael Rosen‘s Sad Book. A heartbreaking story that deals with grief and profound loss.

Cinfhen Sounds heartbreaking 💔I usually associate candles with celebrations but it's true, candles are often associated with mourning 7y

While Rosen is specifically concerned with children, this post applies to all readers. Well, it applies to me, anyway, and how I'm managing to accompany an ex-circus bear as she writes her memoir.

I came across this children's book about 6 or 7 yrs ago at a dollar bookstore. I just wanted to add diverse books to my daughter's collection, and this one quickly became a favorite. It's a little bizarre, but it pulls on your heart strings. It deals with sadness, depression and grief. The illustrations are beautiful as well.
