A quick read for my last read of the year. Set in one of my favourite places Finland. Took me a while to get used to the style. Written in 1st person but with two main characters talking. Short chapters and I had to remember to check who was talking . Interesting.

After reading the Aussie book See What You Made Me Do. I heard this author on the radio. Powerful book. Certainly got me thinking. I no longer think why did / does she stay . After reading both these books I have a better insight and understanding of what domestic abuse or domestic terrorism , as she calls it, is about.

Freespirit Jess Hills book is a must read I think 3y
Jeg @Freespirit I totally agree. I have a young friend about to enter the police force I‘m going to give him a copy to read. I think the police academy should have it on their must read and discuss list. Also lawyers and judges. In fact everyone! 😊. 3y
Freespirit Totally agree! 3y

Wow! I just love her books. This one did not disappoint. First time in a while I felt so much for the main character . At times I wanted to yell at him , at others to reach out and hug him. Towards the end I felt very uncomfortable travelling along with his story but by the end I felt so much empathy . An amazing reading experience for me.

At first I thought this was 4 different stories but not quite , they seem to intersect. The first one impacted me the most. Published this year.

A quick history of racism in the USA. Written for young people. Very engaging style of writing. I read it in one sitting and I now know a lot more.

Almost gave upon this book and wish I had but I saw the comment on the front by Leigh Sales so I kept reading. Not sure what the whole point was. I mostly felt sorry for Maggie and all young women out there who have experienced what she did.

Perfect little read for this beautiful day. I‘m loving these little books. Going to try and get all of them.
Would make a great gift especially for someone who is working or interested in any of the arts.
