I heard Australian author Christos Tsiolkas discussing White on the radio. He was effusive in his praise & had just written a book on White‘s work. Tsiolkas recommended the tagged book as a good entry point.

Holy moley, this was hard work. And I loved every minute of it. Dense, beautifully written, dark and devastating. I wanted to lock myself away so that I could savour the world he created. Torturous, slowly-paced & exquisite. #ozfiction 😍

Very pleased to have found this on a weekend jaunt to the historic town of York, Western Australian. Have wanted to read White & this book was recommended by contemporary Australian author Christos Tsiolkas as a good one to start with. The owner of the bookstore highly recommended it too.
