On Dec. 13, 1981 Mehmet Shehu, a man who was number two in the Albanian government, was killed. Was it murder or suicide? Many different politicians in the country might stand to gain from this death. A wonderful analysis of dictatorship and communistic government.

Riveting, mysterious, funny, basically the whole of human emotion is covered in this book. The ending is fantastic. This is a book you can read again and pick up something different. 5/5

An interesting and unusual book, containing several different shifting narratives in the guise of a dream-like crime novel. It very subtly and gently portrays the horror of living in a fascist dictatorship. What is most horrifying is the realisation that the characters living in fear of the regime are its creators.
