I think this is going to be the book that pulls me out of an encroaching reading slump. After bailing on "To Have and to Hoax" and "Everything Girl" in the span of two days, I was getting scared. Thank goodness "The Real Deal" seems promising. ?

Cute. Good chemistry. Theo is hired as a “boyfriend” for April‘s family reunion and the platonic agreement soon turns to more. Some insta-love but it was done in the non-annoying way. A good contemporary romance to escape into for a few hours.

I read the first half in under 2 hours and then had to force myself to slow down and pace it out because I loved how the chemistry between Theo and April was instant but believable.
Plus it's my favorite trope 😁
The Real Deal by Lauren Blakely (Audiobook)
Narrated by: Zachary Webber and Erin Mallon
4 🌟 I quite enjoyed this fake boyfriend plot line and the characters involved. The dialogue was witty and filled with fabulous tension. The story slowed a bit for me part way in the last quarter, but picked up again with a wonderful ending.
Narrators: Zachary Webber - Awesome as usual
Erin Mallon -Great except for the drawing out of some syllables.
April has a family reunion to go to. The only problem is that she doesn't have a date and if she doesn't come with one her family is going to try to set her up. Her friend tells her about a guy that pretends to be people's date. She contacts Theo and he agrees to be her date. The more the two get to know each other the more the realize that they want to make this pretend relationship the real deal. Thanks #Netgalley and @StMartinsPress 👇🏻👇🏻
