I had high hopes for this one, but it really didn't measure up for me.
Olivia Denis, a young, widowed woman is determined to prove that her husband was murdered rather than committing suicide. As she must support herself or return to her father's overbearing home, she becomes a society column reporter which aids her in her investigation. As she encounters another side to her husband's life (a big one) and his clandestine work-related affairs, 🔻
Unfortunately, I did not connect with Olivia at all. As the book began with her identifying her husband's body, she failed to show much remorse even though she considered their marriage a happy one. Yes, she did work to prove her was murdered, but I didn't get the sense that there was much personal feeling involved, especially after she met the 🔻 12mo
