This book can be used to discuss the emotions in each picture. Although there are no words the animals are expressive. This book could be used to show children both the importance in expressing emotion and also the importance of your actions in showing your emotions.

Award winning- This book is a 2003 Caldecott winner. This story follows a rabbit who has a tendency to find trouble. The main thing that stood out to me in this story is the way the illustrator bolded the pictures and made them look comic-like with their black borders and skinny pages. The pictures also pull weight in telling the story without words.

Published in 2003, this is a funny story that has few words, but awesome illustrations that make the story great. Rabbit causes trouble but mouse is his friend and will stand behind him. There is a dark outline on the border of pages as well as the animals so it makes them look interesting and pop, almost like a comic.

My Friend Rabbit, by Eric Rohmann, 2002. Received a Coldecott award in 2003. I loved the illustrations of this book, there are warm purples and blues to display the characters of the story. The layout also switched from horizontal, to vertical which was interesting and fun!

There are large images which students love when I read in my classroom placement. There is also a page that is flipped when all the animals are on top of each other and having a different orientation even on one page brings engagement and curiosity.

This story had few words, allowing the largest part of the story to be told through the readers depictions of the illustrations. This story reminds readers that what is important is not focusing on the mistake you made, but rather trying to figure out the best ways in which to solve the problem at hand.

Published in 2002, receiving the Caldecott award. This story is focused on the friendship of mouse and his friend rabbit, who is always getting himself stuck in troublesome situations. The two were playing when rabbit got their toy airplane stuck in a tree. Rabbit told mouse not to fear that he had a plan, he gathered and stacked all kinds of animals on top of one another in attempt to reach the plane. Little did he know more trouble was to come.

My Friend Rabbit is a Caldecott award winner; MF book by Eric Rohmann. The story is about a Rabbit and his friend the Mouse. The Mouse is always getting in trouble, and the Rabbit always tries to help him. In the story, the Mouse plane got stuck in a tree, and Rabbit found many animals to get the plane; however, wherever Mouse goes, trouble follows. #UCFLAE3414SP21

StephanyNunez The story is excellent for Choral Reading (CR) because it is not too long; therefore, the students can practice expression and fluency. This strategy uses UDL principle 5.3 (Build fluency with graduated levels of support practice and performance.) The UDL connects with CR because the teacher models fluency and expression. #UCFLAE3414SP21 4y

Review: My Friend Rabbit by Eric Rohmann, 2007, is a Caldecott Winner about a rabbit who saves the day after his friend lets him play with his brand new airplane! It has brilliant illustrations that take up more page than words, but help tell the story even more.
Blurb: I would use this in my classroom as a read aloud, there are many different characters and humor the students would enjoy it.

This F picture book is a great book to introduce the spring season, or animals, or friendship. IT is a friendship between a mouse and a rabbit, how far will you go for your friends? This is a great read for young readers trying to make friends. A lesson to follow up with this story could be for the students to come up with their own examples of going above for friendship. #ucflae3414f19

DrSpalding As you have noted, this would be a great book for teaching about the seasons. I like that you were thinking about how quality children‘s literature can be used in other content areas. Make sure you elaborate on your teaching strategies and principles/English learner strategies. 5y

This award-winning picture book is great to use in the classroom with young children in it. It has few words and amazing pictures/illustrations. It teaches the lesson on how nobody is perfect and it's ok to make mistakes and still love your friends for it. The illustrations are great to use in the classroom for young children who may not know how to read yet or are just beginning to learn how to read.

This is a Caldecott Medal Award-winning book. It is mostly pictures and little words. The illustrations are amazing! I thought this book was super cute and a great short story for younger children. It teaches the lesson of loving your friends even when they make mistakes, and how everyone isn't perfect. Also a great illustration (picture) book!
