It was just okay. The tension between Ethan and Maddie kept the pages turning. Not bad for a short read, though.

"I had the story, bit by bit, from various people, and, as generally happens, in such cases, each time it was a different story."

My first Edith Wharton! I read this alongside an audiobook, which was very helpful in getting me familiar with Wharton's beautiful writing. Overall, this super sad book wasn't my cup of tea, but was very engaged with the second half of the story. I do want to read more of her works. 3.5 out of 5.
I'm not huge on classics, but this short work has a delicious ending.
1. The Wrath of Khan with the original Star Trek cast (shows how long it's been since I've been to the movies!)
2. Touring Rhode Island and Cape Cod with my Mom
3. The business of writing
4. Red
5. Does anyone enjoy blogging?
