It's two years since Saffy found her angel and now her brother Indigo, the only boy in the Casson family, has a quest of his own. He's helped by his new school pal and, of course, by Rose, his ever-resourceful younger sister. The eagerly-awaited sequel to the award-winning Saffy's Angel. I can't believe I've never posted about this book, one that I absolutely adore and re-read every couple of years. I could recount the plot, but that's not really the point here; instead, this book continues to move me through it's many gorgeously rendered moods and themes- of growing up, forgiveness, love, family, friendship, hope, longing, and understanding. It always leaves me feeling joyful but bittersweet, and I just can't get enough.

For #readingresolutions #indigo: one of my favorite books from a favorite middle-grade series. I love the Casson family books so much! In a lot of ways, the Penderwicks remind me of the Cassons—so if you like those, you‘ll probably like these, too. This is the second book, and it‘s a wonderful picture of family and friendship and joy and pain and all kinds of Casson family hilarity and quirkiness. 💙

Needed some comfort reading tonight, and this is fitting the bill. God bless library requests that come in when you need them...
