That‘s an egg cream, in case you‘re wondering. It includes neither egg nor cream, and is old-fashioned deliciousness.

JoScho My husband loves egg creams! Thanks for playing ❤️ 6y

Serious post for the challenge. Those who are differently-abled (physically&mentally) and those with chronic and invisible illness are sorely under- and misrepresented in real life as well as fiction. Learning about others' various health statuses is critical to ending the isolation this group experiences. Diverse reads provide a foundation for useful dialogue for all groups! ~ #Day8 #DiverseReads #booktober #bookphotochallenge ~ @RealLifeReading

bmsddk @BarbaraTheBibliophage 😊 In The Kingdom of the Sick is a great read. What are some other books you like in this genre? 8y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Toni Bernard writes amazing books about chronic pain and illness from a primarily Buddhist perspective. 8y
BarbaraTheBibliophage This is about a guy who had a devastating car accident as a teenager and his recovery. One of my top favorites. 8y
BarbaraTheBibliophage There are so many I could take over these comments for days ... 😟 8y
bmsddk @BarbaraTheBibliophage Thanks for sharing the link! I've followed Bernard's online articles, good to know the book is worth looking into as well ☺ The title to the memoir is beautiful. You have a great collection of reads, will definitely look into the ones I haven't heard of. Your own book sounds like an especially interesting resource--I'm using food as a significant part of my treatments! I sent a friend request on GR, if you don't mind. 8y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Thanks - I did accept and don't mind at all! Looking forward to following your reviews and thoughts there too. Thanks for the thoughts on my book - I hope it could help you! 8y
