Eating Wasps | Anita Nair

I need to read more books like this. For sheer perspective sake. And there's definitely a lot of perspectives in this book due to the unique stories coming from so many diverse characters. Nair writes beautifully while simultaneously discussing sensitive topics. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Posting this quote because her book is full of introspective thoughts such as this, and I enjoyed every moment of the reading and reflecting.

On a slightly more positive note, this book is blowing my mind. Definitely looking for more Anita Nair in the future. Her writing style has a way of drawing you in and wanting to learn more about the characters, despite how diverse and different their stories are. I started this book 2 days after it was overdue at the library. Now it's 10 days overdue, and I have no intention of turning it in until I finish. Thankfully there are no late fees. 😂

⭐️ Utterly DELIGHTFUL. ⭐️

Fans of Little Women who love remakes and modern takes on this classic story (and who won‘t mind creative liberties) and who also want to see more diversity will enjoy this graphic novel.

Question of the Day: You're gonna keep reading queer books even though June is over, right? #QotD

We don't just exist one month a year, so include us in your TBRs year round.⁣

This is the same for reading BIPOC books, disability books, mental health books, et cetera - educate yourself all the time, not just when a certain minority is hyped.⁣

Only 29 pages in, very different from Homegoing but I am glad the author can write in such different ways. I am starting this while I wait for a library copy of Homegoing to come back in; then I will continue with that one and see which book holds my attention the most! 😝 I'll probably still finish them both. I look forward to whatever Gyasi publishes. Good night!!

Audiobook: Interesting and unique POV as the author is a direct descendant of Wells. Draws correlations between civil rights movement of Wells day and today‘s BLM etc. Relatively short but does the job. Somewhat disjointed in logical flow, but I think all in all a good read. #audiobook #diversereads #history #africanamericanhistory #americanhistory #nonfiction
