‘From Dark to Light‘ is such a lovely and whimsical story! I loved the idea of the little pumpkin growing up and finding his ‘purpose in life‘ on Halloween, being happy with ‘his‘ human family. The text could have done with a big more editing, but the wonderful illustrations (this here is one of them) easily made up for that. I would definitely recommend this book, especially as a Halloween read for younger kids.

Lovely picture book about Pumpker who just wants to be picked by a boy or girl so he can bring them laughter in some way. It starts out with his being planted in the ground alongside his sisters, Plumpalicious and Plumpilina. He grows into a pumpkin and, along with his sisters, is chosen by a family just in time for Halloween.
Written by Isabella Murphy when she was in fifth grade. She is now only 13 years old. Perfect book for a Halloween read.
