I basically read the last half of this book on the train today. I need to find something more cheerful for my next adventure to the office. I have no idea if this has an English translation but this title roughly translates to the scent of happiness is stronger in the rain. Basically a woman is left by her husband and it takes the reader a while to find out why.

#BookSpin done!

"The Scent of Happiness is Stronger in the Rain" - although also written by Virginie Grimaldi, this novel has nothing to do with the previous one I read this week, not even in terms of writing style. In spite of its apparently soft, easy prose, this was an unexpectedly realistic, heart-wrenching and devastating couple's drama.
One more to read by this author, I hope it will fall more into the cheering up category

There's so much contrast between the snow falling outside and the covers of the books I'm reading this week, not to mention the stories are all set in sunny places by the sea, by the ocean, by the pool... making me dream of a much needed vacation in warmer places

jewright I so hope next winter we can go somewhere warm. I am sad when we go weeks without seeing the sun. 4y
IuliaC @jewright My thoughts exactly! 😊 4y
