Bring Down the Stars
Bring Down the Stars | Emma Scott
5 posts | 8 read | 1 to read
I fell for Connor Drake. I didn't want to; I fought against it, but I fell in love with him anyway. With his words. With his poetry. With him. The gentleness and beauty of his soul that speaks directly to mine. He writes as if he can feel my heart, hear its cadence and compose the exact right lyrics to accompany every beat and flow. I'm in love with Connor...so why do I feel an inexplicable pull to his best friend, Weston? Grouchy, sullen, brooding Weston Turner, who could cut you down with a look. Fiercely intelligent with a razor sharp wit and acid tongue, he's the exact opposite of Connor in every way, and yet there's electricity in the air between us. The thorny barbs Weston wraps around himself can't keep me away. But the more time I spend with these men, the more tangled and confused my emotions become. When they both sign up for the Army Reserves during a time of increasing strife in the Middle East, I fear I'll never unravel my own heart that sometimes feels as if it will tear straight down the middle...for both of them. ********** Bring Down the Stars is an emotional, angst-filled novel of unrequited love by bestselling author, Emma Scott, and is inspired by the classic tale, Cyrano de Bergerac. (Roxanne) It is Book I in the Beautiful Hearts Duet, coming this summer. Book II, Long Live the Beautiful Hearts, to be released a few weeks later. THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL LOVE TRIANGLE

I'm not a very big fan of poetry, but this I particularly loved. It's only an excerpt from the original poem, written by one of the characters in the book. Obviously, you'd understand it and feel the emotions in it more, were you to actually read the book (which I highly recommend). 🍻🍁

Just know that this story is angsty but also incredibly beautiful. It was frustrating at times & hurting but also filled me with so many beautiful emotions it was difficult to contain them. I am glad I trusted Scott & read it even knowing about the love triangle or I would've missed an epic love & friendship story. It was like reading poetry, the writing was just beautiful.

I really wanted to LOVE this book because so many of my book loving friends adore Emma Scott and recommended it, but overall it was just ok. I loved the friendship between Connor and Weston but felt like I was reading a high school romance. The best is the cliffhanger and even though it‘s clear what the ending will be, I‘m vested enough to see how it all plays out. Hopefully the conclusion will make me love the series overall. So-so for now

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars

This is a two part series, and it definitely left me wanting to read book 2. A love story of two friends who have feelings for the same girl. The two combined would make the perfect guy, but which one does Autumn love more?

This is my first from this author. As the story developed I really saw how amazing Emma Scott is with words (much like the character Weston).

I did enjoy this, emotional and leaves you with a cliffhanger, so you definitely need to read the 2nd book after this
