Xibalba
Xibalba: A Dane Maddock Adventure | David Wood
3 posts | 1 read
A dark descent into the world of the dead. Legends call it Xibalbathe Place of Fear. But some legends are true. The discovery of a treasure in the Yucatan sets former Navy SEALs Dane Maddock and Bones Bonebrake on a search for the legendary Maya city of the dead, and into the path of deadly enemies. From ancient ruins to perilous jungles, Maddock and Bones must outwit the vicious Serpent Brotherhood, and find the fabled city before an old enemy unlocks its secrets and plunges the world into shadow. Can they survive the descent into Xibalba? Praise for David Wood! Dane and Bones.... Together they're unstoppable. Rip roaring action from start to finish. Wit and humor throughout. Just one question - how soon until the next one? Because I can't wait. -Graham Brown, author of Shadows of the Midnight Sun What an adventure! A great read that provides lots of action, and thoughtful insight as well, into strange realms that are sometimes best left unexplored. -Paul Kemprecos, author of Cool Blue Tomb and the NUMA Files A page-turning yarn blending high action, Biblical speculation, ancient secrets, and nasty creatures. Indiana Jones better watch his back! -Jeremy Robinson, author of SecondWorld With the thoroughly enjoyable way Mr. Wood has mixed speculative history with our modern day pursuit of truth, he has created a story that thrills and makes one think beyond the boundaries of mere fiction and enter the world of 'why not'? -David Lynn Golemon, Author of the Event Group series A twisty tale of adventure and intrigue that never lets up and never lets go! -Robert Masello, author of The Einstein Prophecy Let there be no confusion: David Wood is the next Clive Cussler. Once you start reading, you won't be able to stop until the last mystery plays out in the final line.-Edward G. Talbot, author of 2012: The Fifth World I like my thrillers with lots of explosions, global locations and a mystery where I learn something new. Wood delivers! Recommended as a fast paced, kick ass read.-J.F. Penn, author of Desecration

Finished my “x” book but cannot recommend it. If the typo above on the final page doesn‘t scream that this is a self-published book in desperate need of editing, then I have no words.

GingerAntics You would think that would be the easiest to pick up. No wants to know abou the author. Sheesh. 5y
zsuzsanna_reads Reminds me of my own copy editing - it's always the headings I miss! Friend of mine once spent days writing about "demoncats" rather than democrats. Once it gets into word's auto complete... Don't worry, picked up early on in the editing process and everyone thought it was hilarious! 5y

“Isabella mother”

This is the second grammatical error in the first 10% of this ebook! And I‘m already annoyed that after two hit men tried to kill two main characters, the attack barely phased the main characters. This feels like a very very beginner novel that no one edited. Fortunately it‘s a short book.

julesG I'd probably bail around now. 5y
Amiable Is it a self-published book? I don't read those, for this reason--lack of editing. 5y
GingerAntics Oh that's annoying. 5y

Stuck in a hotel room this Halloween. Taking turns reading this one and listening to Zero Day on Audible. Maybe the movie IT later. Ho hum and happy Halloween. 🎃
