The Snatchabook
The Snatchabook | Helen Docherty
3 posts | 4 read | 3 to read
A brilliantly written, laugh-out-loud rhyming text about books and the joy of reading in the vein of New York Times bestsellers It's a Book, How Rocket Learned to Read, and Dog Loves Books. Where have all the bedtime stories gone? One dark, dark night in Burrow Down, a rabbit named Eliza Brown found a book and settled down...when a Snatchabook flew into town. It's bedtime in the woods of Burrow Down, and all the animals are ready for their bedtime story. But books are mysteriously disappearing. Eliza Brown decides to stay awake and catch the book thief. It turns out to be a little creature called the Snatchabook who has no one to read him a bedtime story. All turns out well when the books are returned and the animals take turns reading bedtime stories to the Snatchabook.

No reading time today, because we visited our son and his family. Although they have visited our house, this is the first time in over a year that we‘ve visited them. We brought along slightly belated birthday gifts for our granddaughter, and I got to read this book with her at bedtime 🥰

Come-read-with-me She is adorable! It must have been a great day! 3y
Freespirit That must of been a hard year. Glad you can visit again! 3y

I absolutely love this story! It was the “story for all ages” during our church service yesterday, as it has an excellent message about forgiveness told in clever rhyme and excellent illustrations. I bought the book for our granddaughter‘s upcoming 4th birthday. It‘s always a challenge to find a book that isn‘t already in her library.
