Cute story that went deeper than I expected.
My #firsteverLitsypost was 5 months ago, on this YA novel. The protagonist makes bad choices, but the supporting characters thankfully don't let him forget how dumb he's being. He lies to everyone and pays for it. #booktober
I have a lot of issues with rushed endings. Oftentimes authors want to tidy everything up & offer up a Hollywood ending. This book is like an extended vignette. A snapshot in the life of River Dean. As such, there is a certain closure, but as Dean is still a teenager, there is still much to resolve.
Thanks to this book I read a new poem, William E Stafford's "Traveling Through the Dark." I wish I hadn't.
Book haul! I love visiting @TheBookmarkPR and its sister store, The Bookmark Boutique. 😊
I really enjoyed this! River‘s voice is unique and funny. If you like unique, witty characters and a fast-paced story that you‘ll want to read in one sitting, grab this title!
What a great read! I received this book as a gift from Joseph Beth bookstore for bringing a class on a field trip there. Perfect summer read for a teen- passing it along to my daughter.
4.5/5 tacos🌮
It's unlike anything I've ever read before! This book reminded me of All The Bright Places with their quirky characters and unique interactions. Everything just weaves through flawlessly and it all feels so real. So much happens in just a span of 180+ pages! Highly recommended!
