Was the conflict a little contrived? Sure. Were the characters a tad ridiculous? Also yes. Was it an enjoyable read anyway? Also yes. It‘s been a while since I read the previous books so it felt weird to encounter secondary characters I kinda remembered, but it works as a standalone. Be prepared to be hungry while reading, as Puerto Rican food and culture feature heavily.

A lot of food stuff in this #romantsy that didn't have successful conflict, but had successful relationship. A sweet and emotionally unavailable hero falls for an honest/funny/brave heroine. Not an original plot, but a refreshing voice
