These gorgeously illustrated graphic novels offer wildly entertaining views of their subjects. Whether you're a fourth grader doing a natural science unit at school or a thirty-year-old with a secret passion for airplanes, these books are for you! It‘s been a hide-in-your-book kinda week for us all, Elliott.

AlaMich If only we were all small enough to do that... 6y
vivastory That's the right idea. I called my (Republican) senator this afternoon to express my indignation over the firing of Jeff Sessions. At one point I said, "I never imagined that as a Democrat I'd be calling & defending Jeff Sessions, but it's 2018, so..." 6y
gradcat @vivastory I am absolutely down with what you are saying...I feel 100% the same! (edited) 6y
saresmoore @vivastory I‘m so glad you did that! It‘s totally ridiculous, though, isn‘t it? It‘s just straight up Orwellian. 6y
saresmoore @AlaMich Maybe we just need bigger books. 6y
saresmoore @merelybookish Seems the only safe option, at this point. 6y
batsy Oh geez, that's too cute (and relatable!!) 6y
saresmoore @batsy Her choice of escapism is remarkably educational, though. 🤔 6y
batsy Exactly! I'm shamefully diving into fluffy mysteries to escape the world. Elliott is improving her knowledge #aspirational 6y
JennyM I‘m with you Elliott...give me a book big enough to hide in and I‘m there 😘 6y
LeahBergen 💕💕💕 6y
AlaMich @vivastory Right?? Up is down, black is white, war is peace, ignorance is strength...wait, I feel like I‘ve heard these somewhere before... 🧐 #1984 6y
Suet624 Gah!!! Wish I could fit inside a book. 6y
saresmoore @Suet624 Being a smaller-than-average adult isn‘t nearly as advantageous as being a smaller-than-average child was. I miss it! 6y
Suet624 Yes. 6y

Moray_Reads @batsy I've been doing the same, it's Georgette Heyer and period mystery-adventures for me at the moment! Ellie had the right idea. I'm positive we've got books at work big enough to hide us @saresmoore, you hide from Trump and I'll hide from Brexit! 6y
batsy @Moray_Reads I don't see myself getting out of this mood until the year is over—just ordered some Christmassy British crime classics for the end of the month 😆 A Heyer mystery is one of the books I ordered! 6y
Moray_Reads @batsy I've read about 5 period mysteries in a row so I know what you mean. It will soon be time to start on my designated Christmas reading though, can't wait ✊🎄🎅 6y
saresmoore @batsy Well, I‘ve stacked that one! What‘s in your lineup, @Moray_Reads? 6y
batsy I too would love to know what period mysteries you've been reading, @Moray_Reads 😊 *whips out pen and paper to make a list* 6y
Moray_Reads @batsy @saresmoore mostly books by Deanna Raybourne and Anna Lee Huber, they're extremely silly and melodramatic but somehow they get away with it with intrepid lady investigators and their charming, brooding make enquiry agents. Chock full of clichés but good fun for all that! 6y
batsy @Moray_Reads I adore Deanna Raybourn's Julia Grey mysteries! Exactly as you describe and that's why I love them 😆 Will check out Anna Lee Huber, thanks 👍🏽 6y
saresmoore @Moray_Reads That sounds like the perfect type of reading for the time being. ♥️ 6y
Moray_Reads @batsy if you like Julia Grey I think it's fair to say that you'll like Lady Darby too, they're very similar! 6y
saresmoore @Moray_Reads @batsy Oops, not sure how it happened—guess my tapping finger got a little overzealous—but it seems I‘ve just purchased a Kindle version of both a Julia Grey and a Lady Darby. Now just to hurry up and be done with NaNoWriMo so I can get to the cozy reading, already! Thanks for the suggestions, friends. ♥️♥️♥️ 6y
Moray_Reads @saresmoore have fun with them and watch out for Americanisms 😂 6y
batsy @saresmoore Enjoy! ❤️ 6y
Moray_Reads @saresmoore @batsy The pattern shows no sign of breaking. I've moved onto Peter Wimsey while keeping a horrified, furious eye on BBC News 24 6y
Moray_Reads @saresmoore I despair, but I can't look away! A friend got her UK citizenship yesterday, I'm not convinced she wouldn't be better moving back to Germany and leaning this mess behind 😪 6y
saresmoore @Moray_Reads It‘s so sad and so pointless! Germany (or Canada, perhaps?) is sounding pretty darn good right now. 6y
