June Wrap-Up - thanks in no small part to lots of audiobooks, I had my best reading month this year. Sadly, not all of them were enjoyable, but I managed to finish all but two of the books on my Proposed June TBR, which never happens! So, overall, I'm pleased with June's results and looking forward to July which has far less planned at least at the moment.

StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Well done! I just started listening to audiobooks, hopefully that will help my book count as well. 💖📖💖 5y

I adored this book. It‘s the 10th full length novel in Valerie Bowman‘s Playful Brides series, but it can be read as a stand alone. Bowman does all the things I love in historical romance-laugh out loud humor, witty banter, spunky heroines, dashing heroes, and no weird euphemisms for anatomy. This is my first novel by Bowman and it will not be my last. Thx to the publisher & NetGalley for this “read now” pick.

I really enjoyed “Kiss Me at Christmas” by Valerie Bowman ❄️ Sometimes romances can be cookie cutter or corny and this was decidedly not the case with this book, I‘m happy to say! 📚A note at the end of the book said the author had fallen in love with Regina & Daffin‘s story and hoped we had to. I definitely did, they are great characters that I found myself rooting for. REST OF REVIEW IN COMMENTS :) #booksbrewsandbooze #kissmeatchristmas

booksbrewsandbooze It‘s always great to read about a strong female character and an honorable, respectful man. 6y
booksbrewsandbooze The only thing I‘d change is something authors don‘t typically have control over: The woman on the cover didn‘t have the same color hair mentioned in the books! Yup, I dig the little details. :) 6y
booksbrewsandbooze I also appreciated the way sexual content was written. Overly descriptive sex scenes or constant referencing of physical body parts take me out of the story and often are like reeds in a river, slowing me down as I go. The scenes in this book were well written and sexy without being gratuitous. Seduction is subtle and equals sexiness. 6y

Incoming high praise: I want to read this book again and that‘s not always a given, so I‘m super excited by that!
