"A moving tale of female solidarity and courage." --Kate Quinn, New York Times bestselling author of The Alice Network December 1917. As World War I rages in Europe, twenty-four-year-old Ruby Wagner, the jewel in a prominent Philadelphia family, prepares for her upcoming wedding to a society scion. Like her life so far, it's all been carefully arranged. But when her beloved older brother is killed in combat, Ruby follows her heart and answers the Army Signal Corps' call for women operators to help overseas. As one of the trailblazing "Hello Girls" deployed to war-torn France, Ruby must find her place in the military strata, fight for authority and respect among the Allied soldiers, and work to secure a victory for the cause. But balancing service to country is complicated further by a burgeoning relationship with army medic Andrew Carrigan. What begins as a friendship forged on the front lines soon blossoms into something more, forcing Ruby to choose between the conventions of a well-ordered life back home, and the risk of an unknown future.

21 #21 Interesting subject matter but I felt it could have been so much more. Still worth the read.

The characters are believable and the setting so realistic it is almost painful. Runyan has written a story that captures the human side of war.. A must read for historical fiction. Another well written book by Amie Runyan.

Ordered some spring scented candles from my favorite candle lady, www.bookscentscandles.com. The bloom candle is a fundraiser candle benefiting women and comes with a free book from one of the authors doing the fundraising. Plus I got Pemberley Garden which smells like an Easter flowers. And a Murtagh and Jocasta set, burn them together to compliment each other or burn separatly.

Girl Power!! I won this novel in a Goodreads Giveaway! It is a fictional story about the “Hello Girls” who operated the switchboards in Chaumont, France during World War One. 📞🇺🇸👱🏼‍♀️💪
Total 5 star read.
While there was A LOT of #girlpower happening.. there was simultaneously a lot of “awwwh” moments due to the romantic elements. Amazingly lovable characters. The type that you miss for a long time after you finish reading their story.
