The characters are believable and the setting so realistic it is almost painful. Runyan has written a story that captures the human side of war.. A must read for historical fiction. Another well written book by Amie Runyan.

Even though the book is a work of bibical fiction, the characters faced some of the same hurdles we have today and a reminder that our Heavenly Father is a loving and forgiving God regardless of the situation.

Mesu has a wonderful gift to make Bible characters come to life and she certainly hit it out of the park with Daniel! The background and history of what was going on in the Middle East socially, economically, historically, was very interesting.
