Germaine & I are not always on the same page, but I learn things from her. She opens my eyes to alternate perspectives in an
‘Oh I‘ve never thought of it like that‘ kind of way.

In this essay she writes about Aboriginal dispossession and rage that follows.

Fascinating & abhorrent to me is the idea that white settlers caused ‘the stolen generation‘ (Aboriginal children removed from their homes by the Australian government). ⬇️

😢😡

Freespirit Makes me angry and sad. Sounds like a must read...I am also not always in agreement with Germaine! 6y
LapReader I love Germaine. She puts fireworks under my seat. 6y

LeeRHarry I watched her on Home Delivery with Julia Zemiro (if you haven‘t seen it it‘s worth a look) - it made me want to read more from her - this looks interesting. She is a bit of a divisive character that‘s for sure! 6y
CarolynM I love that Germaine doesn't mind taking the flak for saying things that challenge people. I'm convinced she doesn't always really believe the things she says, she just thinks they need to be said to get people talking about the issues. 6y
MrsMalaprop @LeeRHarry I saw that episode. It was brilliant. Saw a real, human, vulnerable side to Germaine. 6y
LeeRHarry @MrsMalaprop my thoughts exactly 😊 6y
TrishB @CarolynM agreed 👍🏻 that‘s what I always think when she says some things! 6y
tpixie It is mind boggling that every civilization that exists overturned some other civilization. 6y

That‘s Celsius people! Perth‘s hottest maximum in almost two years. A good day to be sitting in the coolest spot in my house with my lovely new bookshelves beside me 😁, reading this essay On Rage.

Am enjoying working my way through this series of essays published by Melbourne University Press in small book format.

Greer is 80 and I heard her being interviewed on the radio today sounding as sharp and controversial as ever. 👊

Bklover 🥵🥵🥵 6y
BarbaraBB Oh man, That‘s hot 😅 6y

RachelAmphlett Omg I don‘t miss those temperatures since moving back to the UK! Skyped with a friend in Brisbane yesterday who said it was 38! 6y
TrishB So would not like that heat! 6y
CouronneDhiver Golly! That‘s hot 🏄🏽‍♀️🏊🏼‍♀️🌊 6y
LeeRHarry Looks like that‘s heading our way Thurs! Booo! 😔😏 6y
Lizpixie I would rather that than the storms that have flattened Sydney since last weekend! Our #xmaslightspectacular is ruined coz our yard flooded three days in a row, the blowups were floating & it poured down again last night. We‘re too scared to turn anything on, god knows if we can salvage anything. With heat I can at least hibernate with my air con.⚡️⛈⚡️⛈⚡️ 6y
MrsMalaprop @Lizpixie Such extremes! Sorry to hear about your Christmas lights. 6y
CarolynM Hope you can keep cool. ☀️😅⛱ I'm in Adelaide. We're expecting 41 on Thursday. 6y
