Ahh 😌 I seem to have shifted out of my reading-stuckness thanks to an application of Holmes and Moomintroll 😊
I'm up to The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton, which is an excellent story, but really doesn't show Holmes in a good light: it's one of those few where his actions and omissions are morally dubious, regardless of the iniquity of the villain.
Jansson's The Invisible Child is a wonderful child-appropriate exploration of the ⬇️

The Fir Tree is a Christmas story telling of the Moomins unseasonal awakening from hibernation, and their bewilderment about holiday traditions they've never experienced. Despite their confusion, the Moomin family carry the spirit of Christmas in their hearts, so all goes well.
Being unstuck, I've started on this newly-delivered counselling journal, with the theme "How can I be of help", which ⬇️

Bookwomble ... includes a paper on therapeutic stuckness, which seems timely for me 😆
And also started is a new-to-me translation of the Tao Te Ching by David Hinton in a pretty Macmillan Collectors edition. His introduction and glossary are useful and interesting, and searching some terms landed me on this paper about translating the work 🙂

This was sent to me by a #BookCrossing friend. I'd not been familiar with the Moomin stories before, and I found these two stories charming and the illustrations delightful!

I love Tove Jansson's writing, both for adults and children, and it's always a joy to read a Moomin story. This rather lovely book, produced by Oxfam, has two little stories, both of which are rather sweet, with Jansson's usual delightful accompanying illustrations. A nice way to spend a lazy hour! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

@squirrelbrain I'm currently volunteering in my local Oxfam & look what I've just found!

The books are Moomin related.

ETA just realised there's 2 and they're bookends!

squirrelbrain Oh my gosh! They‘re cute! I hope you‘ve given them some nuts 🥜 so they don‘t starve when you‘re not there! 🤪 5y
