I would love to use this book during the holiday times to remind children to be thankful for what they have and remember to be kind to others because everyone has their own story to tell

This folktale book is so lighthearted and sweet. It also teaches a lesson about kindness and sharing with one another. It is kind to be generous and gracious to people who may not seem like people you would necessarily get along with. They may surprise you. A classic tale that mirrors the story of Scrooge

"And we wish you and squish you a happy New Year."

I would use this book in my classroom for math and science! Would be a great traditional read!

This book was published in 2011. This book involves bugs and it's a topic that intrigues children. It also initiates counting and is a good read for younger children. This book emphasizes important words with the flow. The illustrations are vibrant and cute.

The charming illustrations add to the details of the story. I love the simplicity the story creates by adding the illustrations on the sides of white pages.

The plot of this story is simple and direct. It shares a message of diversity and understanding of different types of living things. It‘s important for children to apply this to their lives and be open to different types of people.

The illustrations were cute and detailed. it really brought the book to life. The words were also all over the pages which made it seem more lively.

Traditional literature 2011. This book is about the ant making sure that he has enough food for winter so he counts everything all the time. The grasshopper on the other hand played music and enjoyed himself throughout the summer. The grasshopper doesnt have a home, but the ant is gracious and let's him stay with him throughout the winter. The theme is to be perhaps for the future and help those that are in need.

This is a really good book with a good message. I think it‘s important for young children to really grasp the message that this book gives off

This is a story about an unlikely friendship. It teaches people to not judge one another for how they may be different from you but rather learn and grow from the differences.

This book is part of the Traditional Literature category. It is a story about how a grasshopper and an ant who ate very different/an unlikely pair become good friends. They started by not liking one another but they realized they had things to learn from each other and could therefore benefit from being friends.

I love this photo! Two completely different characters coming together and taking care of one another! This definitely shows that we should accept and love all people in life!

Published in 2011 and illustrated by Giuliano Ferri, a story of a close minded ant and an open minded grasshopper emerge to form a lovely story of friendship. The theme prevails towards the end of the book when we see ant opening his mind to grasshopper after being so against him. Ant realized without grasshoppers happy singing he almost felt alone in his counting. The two found strengths in each other to share and enjoy!
