Happiness for Beginners
Happiness for Beginners: The BRAND-NEW Novel for 2019 | Carole Matthews
4 posts | 11 read | 4 to read
The BRAND-NEW book that will make your heart sing from the BESTSELLING and BELOVED Carole Matthews. 'You can't do better than to sink into Happiness for Beginners' KATIE FFORDE 'Fun, fantastic and brimming with Matthews magic' MILLY JOHNSON 'An irresistibly warm-hearted story' TRISHA ASHLEY 'Warm, witty and hopeful - I was charmed' SARAH MORGAN ***Available to PRE-ORDER in hardback, ebook or audio now*** ************************ Molly Baker is living her best life. Thirty-eight years old, she lives on the twenty-five-acre Hope Farm in Buckinghamshire, surrounded by (mostly) four-legged friends and rolling hills. There's Anthony the anti-social sheep, Tina Turner the alpaca with attitude, and the definitely-not-miniature pig, Teacup. Molly runs the farm as an alternative school for kids who haven't thrived in mainstream education. It's full on, but she wouldn't have it any other way. So when the well-groomed Shelby Dacre turns up at Hope Farm asking to enrol his son Lucas, Molly isn't fazed. But Lucas is distant and soon Molly realises he might be more of a handful than she anticipated. And then there's the added problem that his dad is distractingly handsome. Molly has her beloved farm to think of - could letting Lucas and Shelby in be a terrible mistake, or the start of something wonderful? Feel-good, funny and an absolute must-read from the queen of romance Carole Matthews, Molly's story will make your heart sing. New starts and second chances abound in Happiness for Beginners. Why do readers love Carole Matthews? 'Fabulously enjoyable . . . full of heart and fun' Milly Johnson 'Full of joy and laughter' Trisha Ashley 'So warm' Jenny Colgan 'The perfect escape' Woman 'Gorgeous' Katie Fforde 'I laughed and cried and marvelled' Cathy Bramley 'Witty, funny and incredibly touching' Heat

This sort of comment really annoys me. She runs an alternative school for children with behavioural issues, autism & mental health problems. The child she is referring to lost his mum the year before...now he keeps setting fire to stuff. But nope, let‘s just blame the parents for everything. 😠

GingerAntics 🤬 that annoys me. It‘s odd, parents want to blame teachers for everything, and the default for jaded teachers seems to be to blame the parents. For the love, why can‘t we bloody work together. 🤬 4y
Caroline2 @julesG @GingerAntics The author clearly has very little experience of parenting or teaching, her main character becomes a high school teacher by taking a city & guilds certificate at her local college for crying out loud!!! 🙄 😆 seriously?! Do your research love!! 4y

julesG Research?! What's that again? If someone complains, I'll just say I forgot to state that I took artistic license. 4y
Caroline2 @julesG 😆 😉 👍 4y
GingerAntics @Caroline2 oh good grief I hate when authors do that. So the reality of all the work put into becoming a teacher isn‘t important. 🙄 I can see where she comes down on the parents vs teachers blame game in real life. What a lovely person. 4y
GingerAntics @julesG that is SO not an excuse!!! You know how that annoyed the ever living 🤬 out of me!!! 4y
julesG @GingerAntics As it does me. 4y
CoffeeK8 That‘s terrible 🤯 4y
webhau1 I do understand but want to point out that this is on page 40 of an over 400 page book. In this case the parent was to blame as he wasn‘t believing his son. There was actually quite a bit of support for parents and children in this book. The author actually directs you to a place where this kind of care exists and encourages donations. No disrespect intended to your feelings, I just wanted to let people know that much more happens. 3y

Loved this book! Kids and animals that are on their last chance mixing together! Does it work? Add a bit of romance and see what happens
