This was a brilliant book, based in a primary school in UK.
It shows what can happen when you make one little mistake and how many lives are affected! Also the lengths people will go to to get what they want! #NetGalley

I like Amy Winter and she has fascinating baggage!
Can't wait for the next in the series , it's going to be a good one.

A good start to a new series, based in Scotland , a DCI with her own baggage.
A slowish start, but a great ending.
Would recommend it.

I thought that the writing was gripping, edgy but most of all enthralling. I just couldn't put it down.
Jo Masters is a brilliant character, down to earth and has a lot of baggage. I loved Hold My Hand and was worried that the sequel would fall short. I needn't have done.
Looking forward to the next chapter in Jo's life.

Another brilliant police procedural in this gripping series set in the not so sleepy Lake District.
Highly recommended this series, but, they can be standalones.
This one features the fall out of teenage drug use.

I love this guy's books, he write so knowledgeably about places. This time the book was set in Tuscany with all its delicious food and wine. With a lovely romance to boot .

An explosive police procedural set in London. Sadly a topical read with all the hallmarks of someone who has done their research.
You just can't help but feel for the main characters and the lives that they are caught up in.
I had no idea that there were other books in the series until I had finished and read other reviews, but, I will be looking out for them.

Good writing and not at all made pretty or delicate for readers.

A great story, and every parent's nightmare. A turn of events showing what can happen when we lead a double life. 🤔.

I really enjoyed this book about Paris in the occupation. Mostly centered on the French and US resistance and collaborators. Some historical facts which were quite interesting too.
Definitely recommend it .

No.5 released today in the UK . Another great chapter in Mercy and Truman's incredibly chaotic lifestyle . Great twists and turns in this book. Looking forward to the last book in the series and finding out what will happen next .

I think that I had higher expectations for this book. I enjoyed it , but, in my opinion, if a book takes over 2 weeks to read, then something is lacking. It just didn't grab me the way the blurb did.

OMGOODNESS! I can't recommend this book highly enough.
It has all the makings of a massive bestseller...very funny, incredibly sad in some places...written by a new author who has obviously done their homework on many things.
The descriptive writing was so amazing, I could picture it. I have some experience of a few of the issues brought up, and it brought it flooding back.Absolutely brilliant and can't recommend it enough.

Thought that this book was good, had lots of information that I hadn't heard before about Hitler. The protagonist Magda was a passionate woman about her country of Germany, and she was brave and risked her life daily.

A good action packed psychological crime thriller.
A very convaluted motive for the murders, but a good one, which you don't find out until the last few pages.
I liked the characters even with the 'baggage' of life's cruelty.
A debut novel...I would be happy to read another.

This book was brilliant! A police procedural drama with a twist near the end. I kinda guessed who the bad guy was...just not the reasoning behind it all.
I said 'wow' several times out loud, driving my daughter nuts😂😂😂.

A lovely read with family saga, romance and village gossip, all mixed up with glitz and glamour. A very easy quick read based in the Midlands, UK.

A great story, about how a man's poor choices puts him in touch with Death itself.
How he learns how to fight back when he realises that he's not ready to go yet and meets some interesting people on the way.
Absolutely brilliant book! The storyline is deep and full of description and emotion.

Wow! What a fantastic book, I loved the first one in the series, Still house Lake, which I thought was equally as brilliant. This one for me, just had the edge. I was nervous about reading it at one point.

This book was promising, but I felt that the ending was a bit rushed and was disappointed with it.
I did like the setting though.

This is another good book from Melinda Leigh. I like her style of crime, drama and a little bit of romance and the pace of which she writes.
This one didn't seem to flow as well but still 4🌟from me.

I discovered Melinda Leigh last yr when I requested a book from NetGalley. It was the last of a series but also a respectable stand alone. I read it and loved it. I went straight on the read the previous 2. Loved them!

Such easy reading, crime,sometimes not very pleasant, a bit of romance and a lot of action.

This book was a fascinating insight into how some Jewish families managed to escape to Siberia, how they survived and the journey to and from.
I had no idea that people fled to Siberia, and tried to get to Afghanistan and Iran.
I think that this is aimed at YA and is a memoir .

I have just finished this book! Was a little bit scary! Probably 4.5🌟not quite 5🌟. But was good. A little bit confusing in some parts, for me anyway.

Absolutely delightful story. A romance with a difference. Main characters were gorgeous and I found myself laughing out loud many times.
Set, in the most part, in Copenhagen. I am looking at a city break with my mister man, the city sounds fabulous.

I have just finished this book, took me ages to read it. Felt that it was lacking in excitement for a psychological thriller.

If you like a good WW2 book then this is one for you to take a look at.
It's set in London, Bournemouth and a country setting in Shrewsbury.
The protagonist's family are Jewish and this isn't an issue (just as it shouldn't be) for her...but not for all the family.
It's a great book that touches on treason, love, greed but mostly happiness.
Would recommend it.

This book was ok. It was a NetGalley ARC so the editing hadn't been completed, so that may have been a reason why I struggled with the text conversations, as it was really disjointed.
The back story was good, but the ending was predictable.

This book was heartbreaking. Based in the ghetto of Warsaw and a Doctor who ran a children's orphanage and how they begged, borrowed from others so that they could feed and care for the children whose parents had died or given them up for a better life.
As history tells us ,this didn't happen and the Doctor and his children perished in Treblinka. The book is mostly factual, by no means a cheerful tale, but one of survival for just 1% of Jews.

I really enjoyed this book! Not at all wishy washy, but showed that war touches both sides, the enemy and your own side just the same. We all feel loss when someone is killed needlessly.
The setting was precise, having been to Ypres and the area.
Liz Trenow always does her research and it shows once again.
Great book to be released in commemoration of the 'Great War'.

I love Italy! Would eventually love to go to Florence.
This story has a couple of twists and turns along the way, but describes life in Florence and some of its history, food and wine that made my mouth water!
T.A . Williams writes so well and you can imagine walking through the streets.
He writes about labradors too which I adore.
A very easy summery read for the dreary winter evenings.

I liked the main character Alex and his friend Tom very much. The rest not so keen.
I though bits with the nurses/ carers were particularly good.
