When I rang Amolak he went ballistic. 'You complete bastard! I don't fucking believe this! he yelled. What is fucking going on that you keep meeting him and I keep missing out? Right. I'm coming down to the High Court tomorrow.'

Manzoor meets Springsteen covering a trial. His friend, also a superfan, is not impressed!

Work has a "Big Read" (all campus book project) - here's the shortlist!

arubabookwoman The only one I‘ve read is Hullaballoo in the Guava Orchard, and it‘s one of the few Booker‘s I disliked. That was years ago, though, and my tastes may be different now. Is she related to Anita Desai? I‘ve liked everything I‘ve read by Anita Desai. The others look interesting-off to check. 3y

Vansa Kiran Desai is Anita Desai's daughter. Also she didn't get the Booker for this book, but Inheritance of Loss 3y

Vansa Lovely, charming book. HUGELY recommend Blinded by the light, the movie based on the book as well. It really emphasized the universality of Springsteen's music. 3y
