Day 30: Winter Gear-Up

There must be something in my southern California–born blood that makes me continue to hate the cold Midwestern weather in which I've lived most of my life. Yesterday, you saw my comfy knit socks. Today, I present hat and fingerless mitts that I knit . . . and wear begrudgingly along with a winter parka and knee-hi black boots with silver buckles.

Another fantastic book by Susan Mallery, and the last one I squeezed in for #BuzzwordBookathon. I enjoyed this event quite a bit and hope to host it again in the future. ♥️

I reviewed this Southern California-set novel about three sisters (Finola, Zennie and Ali) back in March and enjoyed it. Susan Mallery writes good escape books. 📚🌴🥑🌊🏄🏼‍♀️

Susan Mallery gives us four uniquely engaging, believable characters placed in situations we can all relate to. This book has it all – family drama, romance, heartbreak, female relationships. They find their happily-ever-after in different ways. A perfect vacation book.

This book is pure sugar. I was enjoying myself until I got to this paragraph. Good thing she got a sexy boyfriend so she could stop being such a fatty and stuffing her face 🙄🙄🙄. Can‘t be completely happy until you lose those ten pounds, ladies!

This was a great book to listen to as I was gardening. It is a light story about the relationship between sisters and their mother. I really enjoyed all three of the sisters. This is a great light read.

This book was exactly what I wanted. It was what I expected and I loved it. Very typical, but who cares.

This seems like a good Sunday read to me.

GOSH I love Susan Mallery‘s books! Three sisters have been dumped at practically the same time, in different ways, for different reasons; all face huge life choices now. What I love most about this one is that their sibling relationship is plausible-genuine love for one another, a little bit of jealousy, and a need to maintain some privacy from one another and their parents. This is like women‘s fiction with humor and a little romance—I LOVED IT!!

From earlier this week. Classic Mallery, intertwining stories & a light read with lots of food worked in. Three very different sisters: Finola, Zennie & Ali are dumped in the same week--one publicly by her cheating husband, one by her fiancé's more responsible brother & one from a guy she didn't think she was that interested in.
