I love getting book mail! 📚 My #BOTM arrived really quick. Now I just need to figure out which one to read first.

This book is a reminder of Monroe-Garcia‘s remarkable ability to paint a picture of the backdrop for her books and transport the reader into the story. I loved this book; it reminded me of television shows like Veronica Mars & Broadchurch. The book was fast-paced, mysterious and has historical events that surround the fictional narrative. Finally rejoined #BOTM, and I had a really hard time choosing books this month. I'm thrilled it was such a great selection. I had to pick Taylor Jenkins Reid's new book because I have loved everything I've read by her.

Starting off the holiday weekend with this book. I'm pretty sure it will terrify my. Everything I have read by Riley Sager I have loved!

A Stephen Graham Jones book seems perfect for a rainy Friday night. He has become on of my favorite authors!

This book is one of the most creative plot lines in a book I have read. I loved it! It is a mix of sci-fi/fantasy and a horror twist on Jim Crow South. It is basically a story about the release in 1915 of the movie "Birth of a Nation," and how it was used by white men to summon demons. The story is told through the eyes of the character, Marse, the kick-ass heroine in this book, who wields a sword and fights monsters. I loved this character.

This is definitely in my top five books I've read this year. The book is about Yadriel, his friend Maritza and a ghost that Yadriel summoned. Yadriel is a young trans boy struggling to find his place in his family and society. One of the things I loved about the book is the rich Latinx culture infused in this story. The book is brilliantly written. I highly recommend it and look forward to reading more from this author.

This is the best book I have read so far this year. It is the first book I read by Melanie Benjamin, and now I want to read more of her novels. The reason I loved this book so much was the writing. Benjamin takes the reader on a journey with the characters and it is as if the reader is experiencing the Blizzard of 1888 along with the characters. With every description I felt as if I was right there in the frigid temperatures and the snow.

This novel centers around Odile who lives in Paris and works at the American Library in Paris. The story focuses on how people‘s lives changed in Paris during WWII and Nazi occupation. In addition, the book reminds us that during difficult times many people were good and did their best to help others. The Paris Library is a labor of love for both the American Library in Paris and literature. I loved the book references and quotes.

This was such a great book. The story is told in two different timelines, one is a young women in WWII Labor Camp in Siberia and the other a woman who has lost her beloved grandmother. The author writes about the complexity of grief in both timelines and it is done really well. In addition I know very little about labor camps in Siberia and the author brings this environment to life. For anyone who enjoys historical fiction I recommend this book.

I read this book in one afternoon and it was delightful. It was like reading a book that understood my soul and my love of reading. Anyone who loves bookstores, and who have ever been recommended a good book by someone who works at a bookstore will love this book. I really enjoyed the commentary about short stories at the beginning of each chapter. I feel this book was written for those of us who love a good story.

There is a lot of information in this book. It is such a good book about women's history and how the fight for equal rights. Even if you know a lot about this topic this is a great reminder of the work that was done and the work that still needs to be done. Also, I really loved the graphics in this book.

Started this book today. So far I am loving it. The book is about 2 women in different time periods. One timeline is about a young woman, Katie, who lost her beloved grandmother and the other a family during WWII in a labor camp in Siberia. I really enjoy historical fiction books with two different timelines.

If you enjoy historical fiction that takes place in the 19th century and involves a bit of mystery then I would recommend this book. I read this book for a #BuddyRead with #LiteraryCrew so I don't want to give too much away. However, I really enjoyed it and couldn't wait to see what happened.

Today was such a stressful day for a lot of us. I am taking a break from the news for a bit and cozying up with the 2nd book in the Bridgerton series, my favorite blanket and a cup of tea. This seems like the perfect book to escape reality for a bit.

This is a super cute book involving werewolves, centaurs and magic. The artwork is beautiful! The storyline was fun and unique and loved the diverse representation in this book. I would highly recommend for something light and I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

I ended up loving this book, and if I'm honest, a lot more than I expected to. I found myself laughing a lot and enjoying Daphne and the banter between her and her siblings. There is something about Julia Quinn's writing that made this seem different than other historical romances I have read, and I mean that in a positive way. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Since I have seen so many positive posts about Bridgerton on Netflix. I decided to read the book first and then watch the show. I have to say that I have laughed out loud at some of the dialogue. Happy New Year's Eve! 💜💜

This book has been in my TBR pile for way too long. I am so glad I finally picked it up. I loved this book and the way the author weaves the story. I enjoy books that are fairytale retellings, so I enjoyed how Russian folklore was incorporated in the story. I really loved the character, Vasya, and am really looking forward to the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. The book is set in the 1920s and is about a young woman who dreams of life on the stage. The story is told from three different perspectives, and the book addresses the hopes, dreams and heartbreaks of each character. This is one book I am really sad it ended because I really loved the character, Dolly. #LiteraryCrew

I loved this book. It is about life and best friends. It is also about love and how messy life can get, but there is always that one friend you can rely on. I adored everything about this book, but I'm also an emotional mess from the ending. It takes a lot for a book to make me cry and this book definitely succeeded on that front.

This is the second book in this series and I enjoyed it. The book is light and fun. It is a romance series set in a Renaissance Faire. I have really enjoyed both this book and the first in the series, Well Met.

This book was brilliant and completely unlike anything I have read. The premise is basically four friends are out one night and kill several elk unnecessarily. According to tradition this disrespects the sacredness of an elk kill and they are haunted by this event. This book is tense and graphic including animal cruelty, so it may not be for everyone. However, this is incredible storytelling by Jones and now I need to read more by this author.

Next up is this Kristin Hannah book that has been in my TBR pile for way too long. Also, I'm reading it to prepare for the Netflix series.

I was so happy to see a romance with a plus sized character on the cover. Also, loved that this book fully embraces fandom. This book is a light and fast read, and totally worth it because April is smart, beautiful and honest.

Next up is the tagged book. This cover though 😱. Since it is damp and dreary I thought this seemed a perfect choice for today.

This was such a good book. I have never read Paul Tremblay before and thanks to a friend recommending him I finally read this one. The book is about two sisters, Merry and Marjorie, and a possession. It takes a lot to frighten me and the description of the possession terrified me. 😱 Also, I found the ending surprising.

I really love this YA series. Hannah, is an elemental witch, and her girlfriend, Morgan, is a fire witch. I enjoy these two characters and their strength. I highly recommend this series. My favorite quote from the book, "Maybe we don't know anything about the limits of Clan magic. Not when we work together."

I really loved the storytelling in this book. It is a heartbreaking story though. The book is about three different people that are connected by one event. It is beautifully written book.

Really loving this YA series. Spending this Halloween afternoon reading this book about witches.

I finally finished this book! I'm between a so-so and a pick because it moved really slow. I kept putting the book down because I was not engaged. However, I loved the last 75 pages and really enjoyed Sally and Gillian.

I loved this book. It is a story about a secret residence in the New York Public Library and a mystery of a missing book. I love Davis' writing. What I love about Davis' books are the incorporation of real organizations. This book talked about the Heterodoxy Club in the 1910s, and I'm completely fascinated by this organization. If you like historical fiction I highly recommend this book.

Did some #audiobaking this morning. I made pumpkin maple scones. Now I'm enjoying a scone with coffee and reading tagged book.

Still reading this book. I'm finding it really slow though. I keep putting it down and taking a while to pick it back up. I'm liking the characters, it just feels really slow paced. Also, I'm hanging out with my twin goat buddies today, they had surgery and are recovering. Hoping to get more of this book read while sitting with them.

I am so in love this book. ❤ It feels like a love letter to libraries. There are two different timeline in the book and one of them involves a woman and her family living within the New York Public Library.

I loved this book. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started reading. However, Kiera is an amazing and strong character. Kiera develops a game called SLAY which is a place where "Black gamers deserve to have a safe arena in which they can play freely without having to deal with racial slurs and the threat of violence to them should they win a campaign." This book is creative and intelligent and one of the best YA books I've read this year.

Spending this quiet Sunday reading Slay, which I'm really liking, and hanging out with Hamilton. He seems to want to be under the blankets this weekend. This is the perfect way to spend a Sunday. 💜 #catsoflitsy

I loved this book. I don't want to give too much away, but it involves a gothic house and a mysterious family. The last quarter of the book really gripped me and I couldn't stop reading. Also, love this quote from the book: "They‘re cursed, I tell you, and that house is haunted. You‘re very silly or very brave living in a haunted house."

Spending the evening reading this gothic horror book. It seems the perfect read on a rainy evening. I'm finding the last quarter of this book terrifying. 😱

Spending this beautifully cool day outside reading this book. I'm so grateful for this mild weather and am ready for any type of witchy reads.

I loved Bea and seeing her evolve throughout the book. I found Bea really relatable. This book made me angry, it made me cry and cheer for Bea. Be warned though, this book is tough to put down.

Finished this book just in time for the series to begin tonight. This book is a mix of horror and sci-fi set in the Jim Crow era. Some storylines I liked better than others. This book seems unlike anything I've read combining race and horror. I highly recommend it if you are looking for something scary.

It has been a while since I've posted anything. It seems the pandemic has me spending a lot of time off social media, even Litsy. I have really missed you all. 💜 This week I've been reading LOVECRAFT COUNTRY and it is unlike anything I've ever read. The book takes place during the Jim Crow era and it is filled with aspects of horror. I'm really enjoying it.

First line in this book, " This story ends in blood." I have never read a book by this author, and I'm looking forward to it. Honestly, I borrowed it based only on the title.

Beginning this book on a windy afternoon. I've been having such a difficult time concentrating to read lately. I know a lot of people are having the same issue. I decided to start this one today even if I only read a little bit at a time. I've been thinking of all my wonderful Lisy friends. How is everyone doing?

I'm really picky about the last book in a series. I was happy with the way Holly Black ended this series.
