A collection of very short fairy tales with a much darker story. These were interesting but just too short for me, I like a bit more detail. They're very dark and a more twisted version which I thought was good.

cookreadsleep That‘s why i struggle with short stories. It feels like I‘m walking down the street and see an interaction between my neighbors but i have to keep walking so i don‘t appear rude but i really want to keep watching. Lol 5y
kezzlou85 @cookreadsleep I know exactly what you mean and some of these were only a page long if that. 5y
cookreadsleep @kezzlou85 whoa. That‘s very short! 5y
kezzlou85 @cookreadsleep yeah it was barely a story. 5y

I loved this! Not heard of flash stories before and despite their shortness definitely provoked a different perspective and view on the originals. A modern twist as well as some dark outcomes. Will be adding Marie Brennan to be ‘to be read‘ pile to experience more of her work. If you only have a short time to read and would like break from the everyday for a quick respite, I would recommend this fabulous collection!

Flash fiction isn't really my thing, but twisted fairy-tale retellings definitely are, so these were great fun.

esurient I did prefer the author's previous similar collection, where the stories had been more strongly tilted toward horror. 6y

Dark twist on traditional fairytales.

Flash fiction, longest story is just 442 words.

My favourite were the one about the Princess and the Pea and Rapunzel.
